Instructing Township Personnel On The HydraTite Installation Process

HydraTech recently trained township personnel on the installation process for the HydraTite seal. Once the training was over the personnel installed two seals with oversight from HydraTech. The entire project was started due to a small sinkhole forming in a local roadway. While the small indentation was filled in the infiltration that led to its formation needed to be addressed to prevent the formation of another sinkhole. The township personnel were able to learn the installation process quickly and successfully apply what they learned in the field. First, a small patch of concrete was applied to the invert of the pipe to create a smooth surface for the seal installation. Then the rubber was put in place over the compromised joint. Finally, the stainless steel bands were then used to lock the rubber in place. The entire process was copied on the second joint and the project was completed. In a matter of hours, the two HydraTite seals were installed over the joints of concern and the infiltration was eliminated.
