PREPARING CONTRACTORS FROM ALASKA TO INSTALL HYDRATITE

Author Icon Dave Dubois, 1/14/2025

A couple of people came down from Alaska to learn about our HydraTite Internal Pipe Joint Sealand how it can be installed to eliminate infiltration. They were here to get certified on the installation process so as a contractor they could install HydraTite in Alaska, a state that HydraTech has not done extensive work in.

The training went well and they learned quickly. I verbally walked them through the process, double-checking the dimensions of the pipe, clearing and smoothing the interior surface of the pipe near the joint, positioning the rubber and steel, and expanding the first band. By the second band, they had a good understanding of the process so I let them use the hydraulic expander to pressurize the second band. Both bands were locked by inserting wedges and the whole training was completed in 30 minutes.

Now after a quick training, they can install our seals with confidence, rehabilitating pipe up north. We will be here if they ever have any questions or project specific oddities.
