Our technical engineer, Mike Fox, breaks down the components of HydraLock and how they function when utilized in small non-man-entree pipes. The seal is comprised of an EPDM rubber seal with two hydrophilic rings, a stainless steel sleeve, and a locking mechanism. The system is installed using a mechanical packer or bladder.
HydraLock is a custom-made, small-diameter pipe joint seal designed to repair leaking pipe joints from inside the pipeline without excavation, helping reduce repair costs by more than 50% compared to many dig-and-replace methods. Each seal is delivered to the repair location on an installation packer, expanded into position, and locked in place to create a tight, leak-free joint repair that can often be completed in days instead of weeks.
